Maxcom Telecomunicaciones (“Maxcom”) is a Mexican telecommunications company, founded in 1996. It has been listed on the BMV since 2007, under the ticker symbol “Maxcom CPO” (listed as well in the OTC market, under the ticker symbol “MXMTY”). Maxcom operates in the following markets:

The successful operation of Maxcom is reflected in the penetration obtained in regions where it owns the last mile:
  • 28% in Mexico City, in coverage areas with last mile property: 119,490 lines, 4% of the total service lines in Mexico City
  • 28% in Puebla, Puebla, in coverage areas with last mile property: 58,446 lines, 22% of the total residential lines in the state of Puebla
  • 16% in Tehuacán, Puebla, in coverage areas with last mile property: 5,535 lines, 15% of the total residential lines in Tehuacán
  • 23% in Querétaro, Qro., in coverage areas with last mile property: 12,982 lines, 10% of the total residential lines in service in the state of Querétaro
  • 22% in San Luis Potosí, S.L.P., in coverage areas with last mile property: 17,436 lines, 18% of the total residential lines in the state of S.L.P.

According to Pyramid Research, at nationwide, Maxcom had a penetration rate of 1.6% in fixed telephony, 1% in internet access and 0.6% in pay-TV, as of the end of 2013. Maxcom’s average churn rate for the previous three years has been 2.49%, and 2.8% in 2013. Maxcom’s production and service is circumscribed within a framework of quality and continuous improvement, and is recognized with several certifications.
